The METACyt Center for Computational Cytomics

The METACyt Center for Computational Cytomics supports research that is funded by the METACyt initiative. It is a collaborative effort of the Center for Genomics and Bioinformatics (CGB) and University Information Technology Services (UITS). The center is led jointly, and each organization contributes it own expertise: science on the part of the CGB and computing for UITS. The center's first goal is to assess needs of funded faculty and to formulate a plan for satisfying those needs. It is anticipated that the center will develop analyses, analyze some datasets, develop means of managing data such as lab information systems, and be involved in simulation studies. Efforts of the center will inclued collaboration on grants and/or papers, work for hire, and friendly advice.
