Indiana Spatial Data Portal
The Indiana Spatial Data Portal (ISDP) is a near-line data archival and distribution system that provides public access to a variety of geographic data for Indiana. The ISDP:

- serves up more than 1.4 Terabytes of aerial photos, topographic maps, digital elevation models, and vector data
- presents data through an easy-to-use interface
- provides data at no cost
- makes data readily available to the general public
The Indiana Spatial Data Portal utilizes Indiana University's Massive Data Storage System (MDSS) and high-speed networking for storing and distributing data. The MDSS:
- is a state-of-the-art data storage system
- has the capacity to store more than 1,000 Terabytes
- is a geographically distributed, disaster-tolerant system with copies of all data in both Bloomington and Indianapolis
- is designed to provide long-term data storage
- is linked to high-performance networks and provides fast data transfers
- More than 28,000 different users have downloaded GIS data from the ISDP since November 2003
- Users downloaded nearly 1.1 Terabytes of data in 2004
