Geographical Information Systems and Grid Applications for SERVOGrid
The Community Grids Laboratory (CGL) is investigating the combination of Geographical Information System (GIS) services with traditional Grid services to build "Grid of Grids" style applications.
We combine GIS data grid and information grid services with Grid-enabled scientific and crisis management applications by using Web Service orchestration tools (HPSearch) and a general purpose message and event system (NaradaBrokering).
CGL GIS Web Service implementations include:
- Web Feature Service: Geospatial and geotemporal data sets are accessed through this service.
- Web Map Service: Map features are composed and rendered using this service.
- Information Services: We manage information about distributed services using extended UDDI and an implementation of WS-Context.
- Sensor Web Enablement: We examine the use of messaging systems to support real-time data grids with time series analysis applications in the loop.
