Collaborative Communities

Indiana University is helping to build the national cyberinfrastructure through its involvement in the National Science Foundation TeraGrid, Open Science Grid, Global Grid Forum, International Virtual Data Grid Laboratory, IP-Grid, U.S. Atlas, and many other grid computing initiatives. Through collaborations and partnerships, the aim is to weave a common software and middleware infrastructure that provides secure, reliable, robust, and relevant capabilities to meet the broad needs of the scientific and scholarly communities. By achieving J.C.R. Licklider's vision of ubiquitous, reliable computing utility, new methods of scholarly inquiry not possible today will become commonplace, resulting in innovation and discovery not yet imagined.
